‘Moses The Black’, Starring Omar Epps, Wiz Khalifa, Quavo & Chukwudi Iwuji, Gets U.S. Deal & Release Date; Khalifa, Quavo Team On Soundtrack

EXCLUSIVE: Fathom Entertainment is partnering with Simeon Faith, the Nick Mirkopoulos Cinematic Fund, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, to release Moses The Blackthe gangland crime pic starring Omar Epps, rappers Wiz Khalifa and Quavo, and Chukwudi Iwuji.

Fathom will release domestically from January 30th, 2026. We can also reveal that the movie will feature an original soundtrack exec-produced by Wiz Khalifa, featuring Quavo and others.

The story about a gangster in modern day Chicago is inspired by the repentance story of the fifth-century saint of the same name. Epps plays Chicago gang leader and lead character Malik, with Khalifa as 2wo-3ree, the confident and volatile leader of Malik’s young crew. It marks the Grammy nominated rapper’s second movie role and his first as one of the leads. Quavo plays Straw, Malik’s arch-nemesis. The title character, St. Moses the Black, is played by Iwuji. Below is a first look at Epps in the film.

Yelena Popovic (Man of God) is writer-director. Also staring are Corey Hendrix, Cliff Chamberlain, Ahmad Ferguson, Sambou “Bubba” Camara, Kierra Bunch, Skilla Baby, and former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. Principal photography wrapped this fall in Chicago and Stoic handled sales at the recent American Film Market.

“This film is about redemption and real change. It’s raw, it’s emotional, and it’s powerful. I can’t wait for audiences to see it,” said Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

The film is produced by Alexandros Potter and Yelena Popovic for Simeon Entertainment on behalf of Simeon Faith, with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and his G-Unit Film and Television serving as executive producers. Wiz Khalifa executive-produces through Taylor Gang Films, and Omar Epps also serving as an executive producer through his production company BrooklynWorks Films.

Simeon Faith financed the film alongside the Nick Mirkopoulos Cinematic Fund, backed by the former owners of Cinespace Film Studios— Alex Pissiosand the Mirkopoulos family of Toronto—who also serve as executive producers. Additional producers include Brett Hays, and executive producers include Josh Schachter and William Dzombak for Taylor Gang Films; Reginald Ahkeem Berry Sr.; John Kynigopoulos and Florence Larsonneur for Simeon Entertainment and Nat McCormick and Brandon Burrows for Stoic.

Fathom Entertainment previously collaborated with Simeon Entertainment in 2022 on Man of God.
