"National Economy for Human Rights" Participate in the sixth conference of Egyptians abroad

The Economic Committee of the National Council for Human Rights participated in the work of the sixth conference for Egyptians abroad, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Cairo with the participation of Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, a number of ministers and representatives of national institutions, and a wide presence of Egyptian communities around the world.

This participation comes within the framework of the basic role of the committee in monitoring and analyzing economic policies from a human rights perspective, and assessing the extent of the state’s commitment to ensuring the economic rights of Egyptians abroad, including financial, investment and tax aspects, in light of the Egyptian constitution and the international agreements that the state has been certified.

Dr. Mohamed Mamdouh, a member of the Council and Chairman of the Economic Committee, stressed that the conference constitutes an important opportunity to open an institutional dialogue between the state and the Egyptians abroad on their rights and demands, noting that the economic rights of Egyptians abroad are an integral part of the human rights system, and it is part of the state’s responsibilities in respecting, protecting and fulfilling them."Ltr"> Mamdouh explained that the committee has worked during the past years to open major files that affect the lives of Egyptians abroad from a human rights perspective, including the right to a safe and stable investment environment, and to ensure the protection of financial transfers from any arbitrary measures or unjustified restrictions, in addition to the pursuit of tax and transparent justice in financial policies, and equal opportunities in legal and economic treatment compared to the foreign investor, as well as enhancement Mechanisms of grievance and fairness in the event of financial or administrative conflicts.

He pointed out that the committee adopts since its formation a cumulative approach based on the human rights analysis of policies, openness to the experiences of Egyptian communities, and direct communication with a number of entities and effective symbols abroad, in order to develop visions and recommendations that are raised to the institutions concerned, in a way that contributes to improving the quality of policies and ensuring their consistency with rights Constitutional.

He stressed that the Egyptian abroad has an authentic right in a fair and fair economic environment, and in a complete legal protection of his money and investments, stressing that this right should not be seen as a privilege, but rather as a constitutional obligation to enlarge. From this standpoint, the committee’s participation in the conference was not merely a symbolic presence, but rather an extension of an institutional workplace that believes that economic citizenship is indivisible.

Mamdouh emphasized that enabling Egyptians abroad to participate in the formulation of policies related to their economic interests is an inseparable part of the right to public participation, which requires finding sustainable mechanisms that enhance confidence and interaction between the state and the citizen abroad.

He concluded by emphasizing the continuation of the Council’s Economic Committee in performing its role in monitoring economic policies affecting the rights of Egyptians abroad, and working with the competent authorities to ensure the protection of these rights in the various stages of the economic cycle, and to ensure the consolidation of justice and the preservation of economic dignity for every citizen, wherever his geographical location.
