Plastic surgeons weigh in on Ricky Martin’s VERY youthful appearance after his Super Bowl performance

Ricky Martin made a surprise appearance during the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday – but the crooner’s cameo wasn’t the only shock, with fans stunned by his youthful appearance. 

The 54-year-old singer took to the stage with Bad Bunny at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, where he sang a rendition of the artist’s Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawaii.

Martin, who is from San Juan, Puerto Rico, performed while seated next to a plantain tree, replicating Bad Bunny’s Debí Tirar Más Fotos album cover.

But many viewers were quick to point out that Martin looked younger than ever with a very youthful visage.

Dr Sean McNally, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Portland, Oregon, detailed the cosmetic tweaks he thinks the artist may have undergone to achieve his fresh face after assessing the pictures and video of Martin performing.

He told the Daily Mail that he doesn’t think the Livin’ Latin la Vida Loca artist has undergone any major reconstructive operations.

‘To me it doesn’t appear that he’s had a major plastic surgery like facelift, neck lift, browlift or blepharoplasty,’ McNally, who has never treated Martin, explained.

But the expert does see two areas of his face that appear to be ‘significantly improved.’ 

‘First is his midface shape and volume,’ the doctor explained, adding that while it could be achieved with filler, it may have also been achieved with fat grafting. 

Fat transfer is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses fat to enhance other body parts to provide a plumper, more youthful look and repair scars, as per the Cleveland Clinic. 

The second improvement McNally noticed was Martin’s ‘improved skin tone and texture.’

He suggested there was a ‘good chance’ this is the result of filler to his midface or jawline.

‘Filler would maintain [his] youthful shape,’ he explained. 

McNally added he doesn’t think Martin uses Botox, as his facial animation seems ‘too dynamic’ for a Botox user.

But he does think Martin’s smooth complexion points to some cosmetic intervention.  

‘Given his age and skin type, he would be prone to hyperpigmentation like age spots,’ the expert pointed out. ‘He’s certainly doing something to combat this.’

He suggested that his glowing skin is a combination of good skincare and lasers. 

‘The most likely culprits would be a skin care regimen that utilizes hydroquinone and lighter resurfacing lasers like Moxi or erbium as they’re more appropriate for difficult and reactive skin types,’ the doctor said. 

According to Masha Sohrab, an oculofacial plastic surgeon, Moxi lasers gently heat the skin’s deeper layers without removing surface skin, stimulating collagen while keeping the epidermis intact.

Erbium, which is a type of ablative laser, fully vaporizes the outer skin layer, triggering wound healing and full skin regeneration.

Ablative lasers are a better choice for treating deeper wrinkles, pronounced pigmentation, or textural damage, while Moxi is better suited to targeting early signs of aging and sun damage.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Martin’s representatives for comment. 

Bad Bunny blew the minds of fans and viewers as he headlined the halftime show at Sunday’s Super Bowl LX, which saw the Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots by 29–13, marking just the second Super Bowl win for the Seahawks.

The halftime show also featured a surprise appearance from Lady Gaga, who performed Die With A Smile in a salsa-style arrangement.

Gaga was dressed in a lovely blue sleeveless dress with a plunging neckline and a tiered skirt as she appeared at a microphone.
