Politicians: National elections decisions establish transparency and ensure the integrity of the democratic process

The decisions of the National Elections Authority, to cancel the voting results and re-run the elections in 19 electoral districts, received wide praise from various political forces, in a step that reflects the strength of the Egyptian state in protecting the democratic process and preserving the will of the voters.

 These decisions came to confirm the authority’s independence and firmness in the face of any violations, and its consolidation of the principles of justice and transparency, on which the electoral process in Egypt is based.

Rerunning the elections is a victory for transparency

For his part, Major General Dr. Reda Farhat, Vice-President of the Congress Party and professor of political science, confirmed that the decision to repeat the elections in 19 electoral districts reflects the state’s full commitment to implementing the law and preserving the will of voters, noting that the electoral system in Egypt operates according to clear rules that prevent any violation of the integrity of the competition.

 

Farhat said that the National Elections Authority, as the body, Specialized in managing elections and adjudicating appeals, it has proven its ability to make decisive decisions in a timely manner, stressing that carefully reviewing each stage of the electoral process ensures justice and equal opportunities among all candidates.

 

Farhat added that the decision sends a message to public opinion, that the state does not tolerate any suspicion of violation of transparency, and that the authority decides disputes according to evidence alone, which enhances citizens’ confidence that their votes are protected, and that state institutions stand at a distance. One for everyone.

The political science professor pointed out that the recent decisions are consistent with the presidential directives to preserve the integrity of the electoral process, ensuring a parliament that honestly expresses the will of the voters.

Complete bias to the will of the people

While Representative Hani Halim, a member of the Senate, praised the decisions of the National Elections Authority, to cancel the results of 19 districts in seven governorates, within the first stage, stressing that they reflect the state’s commitment to the integrity of the vote.

Halim explained that the Authority observed several fundamental violations, including the failure to provide the candidates with copies of the census reports and the existence of a large discrepancy between the results of the committees, which prompted it to implement Article 54 of the Exercise of Rights Law. Political and re-elections.

 

The senator stressed that these decisions represent the protection of the citizen’s voice and the consolidation of the people’s confidence in their institutions, noting that the commission has proven its complete independence and its ability to control the electoral process.

A turning point to protect the popular will

In the same context, Chancellor Michael Raphael, head of the Egyptian National Party, praised the decisions of the National Authority to cancel the results of some districts, in addition to canceling the results of the entire Qena governorate and Sohag with the exception of the Balina center, considering it an important stage in the history of Egyptian political life.

 

Raphael indicated that the decisions came in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, By enforcing the law without leniency, after attempts to tamper with the electoral process, stressing that the President’s recent statement put an end to any practices that could distort the democratic process, indicating that the President’s position is not new, as he has repeatedly proven that he stands on the lookout for everything that affects the rights of citizens.

 

He added that the Commission’s decisions restored reassurance to citizens and opened the door to new elections, characterized by complete transparency, under strict institutional and supervisory supervision, which reflects the true will.
