For five years, the state has been accused of spending unreturned investments in the development of New Alamein and the New Capital, and there was a group that launched a severe attack on the government and accused it of borrowing in order to implement some of these projects.. But today we find a group saying: The state must implement these projects! Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, followed up on what was raised on social media about the project, where he said: “I followed some opinions that said: Why doesn’t the government implement this project itself and leave it to investors?” This made me laugh, because for five years the state has been accused of spending unreturned investments in the development of New Alamein and the New Capital, and there was a group that was launching a severe attack on the government and accusing it of borrowing in order to implement some of these projects. But today we find a group saying: The state must implement these projects!"
The Prime Minister continued, saying: "The truth that I would like to emphasize is that when the state intervened and began to build and invest in a very large way in infrastructure and implement projects such as the new capital, new Alamein, and new cities, we are talking about an exceptional period in Egypt’s history, a period in which the global and local economy was rife with turmoil. What we saw is that we will not be able to commit to large investments to open the Egyptian economy and make it recover except through the state taking the initiative and investing in infrastructure and some pioneering projects that generate returns after that and attract the private sector to Egypt for investment and development.”
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly added: “Without this spending that was made on infrastructure in all fields, we would not have been able and will not succeed in attracting investments in the sectors of industry, tourism, communications, information technology, agriculture, logistics, and all fields.” “The other”.
The Prime Minister stressed that the efforts made by the state in this regard are what contributed to paving the way for attracting more investments and celebrating such a project, expressing his hope that the next stage will witness the establishment and implementation of more projects that benefit our beloved country, Egypt.
In conclusion, the Prime Minister renewed his thanks to the brothers from the State of Qatar for their support and confidence in the investment climate in Egypt.
