Principal photography has begun on director Elize Finnerty’s horror feature “White Sands” in the Hamptons.
The film, which is shooting in Amagansett, N.Y., stars Rebecca Knox (“Orange Is the New Black”), Kaley Ronayne (“The Resident,” “The Right Stuff”), Marta Pozzan (“Fior,” “di Latte,” “Jacob the Baker”), Jessica Sula (“Split,” “Skins”), Roby Attal (“Dexter: Original Sin, Hell Fest”), Tyler Alvarez (“American Vandal,” “Never Have I Ever”), David H. Holmes (“High Fidelity,” “The Penguin”) and Jean Louisa Kelly (“Top Gun: Maverick,” “Uncle Buck”).
The official summary of the movie reads, “’White Sands’ follows Cora (Knox), an aspiring food blogger who joins her boyfriend Josh (Holmes) for a beachside birthday weekend hosted by influencer Alex (Ronayne) at her family’s boutique seaside motel.
“When Josh is called away, Cora stays behind, growing dangerously obsessed with Alex and her exclusive circle — a glamorous but fractured group that includes Ella (Pozzan), Carlos (Alvarez), Robbie (Attal), and Lily (Sula). As the weekend unfolds, a sinister force tied to the motel’s occult history begins to surface, and Cora’s fixation takes a terrifying turn.”
Finnerty directs from a script by Michael Harker and Knox. The film is produced by Ian Adelson and RJ Brown of Floor 1 Productions, alongside Lucy Loewenberg, Michael Harker and Knox.
Finnerty made her feature debut with 2022’s “The Ones You Didn’t Burn,” which she wrote, directed and starred in and premiered at London’s FrightFest. It is currently streaming on the AMC platform Shudder. Her upcoming drama with “Thunder Road” with Vanishing Angle stars Ben Barnes, Ben Ahlers and David Zayas.
