Sabrina Carpenter‘s Grammys performance just turned the stage into an international departures lounge, and apparently the flight plan might include Melbourne.
I’m choosing hope, a prayer, and the delusion-to-manifestation pipeline as my carry-on to a possible Sabrina Carpenter 2026 Australian tour!
During this year’s ceremony, Sabrina performed “Manchild” with a full airport-style set, including one of those classic departures boards glowing away in the background. At first glance it looked like a cute visual nod to the whole travel motif she’s been leaning into, but TikTok girlies do not, under any circumstances, let a blurry background detail live in peace.
Enter TikToker @sarahsmytheee, who posted a video after the performance and basically had a mild spiritual event over what she spotted. In her video, she says: “If you can see in the back, there is a board and it had “Manchild”’ lyrics on it.”
Then she realises something is off and adds: “However, that’s not “Manchild” lyrics. That is cities. Not only is that cities, Melbourne is on there. If there is one thing we know about our girl, she went to the school of Taylor Swift and she loves a good Easter egg. I have actually had to come outside and reconnect with nature because we’re getting a tour. We’re getting a tour!”
The cities she calls out from the board are Las Vegas, London, Seoul, Nashville, Barcelona, Lisbon, Rome, Melbourne, Boston, Milan, Miami, Seoul and Little Rock. It’s giving tour-coded rather than random lyric art, which is why everyone’s brains immediately short-circuited.
For Aussie fans, seeing “Melbourne” tucked in there hit especially hard, because a lot of people have been loudly wondering when she’ll finally bring a proper headline show here after opening for Taylor Swift and then seemingly skipping us in other touring legs.
She’s been hinting at doing an Aussie tour for a while now, with Man’s Best Friend posters popping up in Sydney in July last year, and an Australia number plate visible in the background of a Sabrina Carpenter pop-up in London.
Please, please, please, let this be a sign that our favourite pocket-sized pop princess will finally be making her way down under this year! We’re waiting with eager ears for this little diva to confirm or deny the rumours, but you best believe we’ll be updating you as soon as we find out.
