A shooter armed with a machine gun unleashed a hail of bullets at a suburban home in Sydney’s southwest in the middle of the night, alarming neighbours.
Police received reports about 2.20am on Saturday that shots had been fired into a home on MacKellar Street, Casula.
A dark-coloured Audi is understood to have screeched to a halt outside the property before a shooter opened fire.
Footage, obtained by crime news digital platform SCN Worldstar and published by 7News, showed light flaring from the muzzle as the gunman unleashed up to 40 rounds.
The Audi’s driver could be heard shouting from inside the car as their companion’s weapon jammed.
‘Quick, quick, quick, get in, get in,’ the driver can be heard saying.
‘Quick bro…Drop it, let’s go!’ they said after the shooter appeared to clear the issue and let off another volley of bullets.
The video ended abruptly as the Audi sped away, tyres screeching. Police said that, shortly after, a black Audi was seen driving west along Leacocks Lane.

No one was inside the property at the time of the shooting, nor were there reports of anyone being injured.
‘I was s*** scared,’ a neighbour told The Daily Telegraph.
‘Never heard anything like it. Sounded like a movie. I didn’t even want to peek out the window.’
The former occupants are understood to have moved out three weeks earlier.
Police have said several former residents of the home are known to police, and initial investigations suggest the incident was targeted. Investigations are ongoing.
Liverpool City Police Area Command Superintendent Scott Tanner has condemned the brazen act.
‘It’s reckless, it’s dangerous,’ he said.
‘We won’t stand for it. There are a number of families that reside in that street and all it takes is one bullet to go astray and it can cause massive heartache for families.’
Police have urged anyone with information about the incident, or with dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area at the time, to contact Liverpool Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
