Sky Sports announces ANOTHER landmark golf partnership after Rory McIlroy’s epic Masters triumph

Sky have announced yet another landmark golf partnership, with the broadcaster agreeing a multi-year deal with Augusta National Golf Club for Sky Sports and NOW to remain the exclusive home of The Masters in the UK and Ireland.

The London-based network has seen its golf coverage grow exponentially in the past year, with Sky recently putting pen to paper on a new multi-year deal to show the 2027 and 2029 Ryder Cups.

Last week, the broadcaster also announced that it will remain the home of the Ladies European Tour (LET), extending that partnership with the tour into its 30th year.

There were scenes of relief, elation and ecstasy at Augusta National in April, as Rory McIlroy ended his agonising 11-year wait to complete the Career Grand Slam and finally claim his first Green Jacket.

It was the most-watched day in the broadcaster’s history, with a whopping 1.85million viewers tuning in to Sky Sports to watch Newcastle beat Manchester United 4-1, Liverpool beat West Ham 2-1, Birmingham beat Peterborough in the EFL trophy final and Oscar Piastri claim victory at the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Of course, the day culminated in McIlroy’s epic triumph at Augusta, with Sky commanding 37 per cent of the total TV viewership.

‘We’re delighted to extend our long-standing partnership with the Masters Tournament and Augusta National Golf Club, further cementing Sky Sports as the home of golf in the UK and Ireland,’ Sky Chief Sports Officer, Jonathan Licht said.
