Sydney Airport was placed into lockdown after an incident involving the Australian Federal Police.
Australian Federal Police arrested a person who allegedly tried to grab a gun from one of their officers on Wednesday, reports 2GB’s Ben Fordham.
The individual was quickly detained and is now in custody.
A spokesperson for Sydney Airport has confirmed no one was injured as a result of the incident.
‘Sydney Airport is currently assisting Australian Federal Police following an incident earlier this morning,’ they said.
‘An arrest has been made and the airport is operating normally.’
The crew rooms at the domestic terminal were temporarily locked down following the incident.
A source whose relative works at the airport told 2GB Sydney they had heard a loud bang around the same time the crew rooms were put into lockdown.
