The Arab League calls on Arab youth to keep pace with technological development

 The League of Arab States called on Arab youth to persevere in hard work and keep pace with the tremendous technological development that the world is witnessing, to achieve a qualitative shift towards a knowledge society and digital transformation.

This came in a speech by Ambassador Dr. Khaled Manzalawi, Assistant Secretary-General of the League, Head of the International Political Affairs Sector, before the conference “Civil Society and Arab Youth…Partners for Elevating Challenges.” Which was organized, at the university headquarters, by the Arab Youth Council for Integrated Development, in cooperation with the Department of Civil Society Organizations in the Social Affairs Sector of the General Secretariat of the Arab League, under the slogan “Together we raise the challenges.” And under the auspices of the League of Arab States and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

 

Ambassador Dr. Khaled Manzalawi confirmed, in his speech, which was contained in a statement issued by the Arab League today, that the conference comes within the framework of the League of Arab States commemorating the 80th anniversary of its founding, out of belief in the importance of multilateral action in confronting political challenges.

 

He added that the League of Arab States "House of Arabs" It witnessed multiple historical stations that left its mark on the political history of Arab countries and peoples, and strengthened cooperation paths in various fields, to achieve comprehensive development. He pointed out that the collective Arab effort was also crowned by the establishment of many cooperation forums and the development of Arab relations with major powers regionally and internationally, and with various regional groupings and international organizations.

 

Ambassador Manzalawi called To integrate youth into decision-making, and enable them to participate in the process of development and progress, noting that the "Baghdad Declaration" Issued by the Council of the League of Arab States at the summit level in its 34th regular session, as well as the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit in its fifth session, held in Baghdad in the Republic of Iraq on May 17, 2025, it stressed the importance of strengthening the role of Arab youth and civil society in shaping the future of Arab development.

 

The conference was attended by Professor Dr. Nazir Ayyad, Mufti of the Republic, Head of the General Secretariat. For the role and fatwa bodies in the world, and Dr. Mufid Shehab, professor of international law and former Minister of Higher Education, representative of the Minister of Youth and Sports, and representative of His Holiness Pope Tawadros, Pope of Alexandria, Patriarch of the See of Mark, and the permanent delegations of Arab countries.

 

After the end of the opening session activities, the attendees visited the museum exhibition of the League of Arab States "Biography and Journey" And they learned about the various narrative stories that tell the story of the League of Arab States since its founding and its pivotal role in supporting the liberation movements in the Arab countries and enhancing economic, social and cultural cooperation among the member states.
