The Council of Muslim Elders: Protecting children and preserving their childhood from exploitation and suffering is a legal, moral and humanitarian duty

The Council of Muslim Elders, headed by the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar Al -Sharif, affirmed that protecting children and preserving their childhood from exploitation and suffering is a legal and moral duty and a great humanitarian honesty, shared by societies, institutions and individuals alike. Which corresponds to June 12 of each year, that confronting the exploitation of children and forced work is a collective responsibility that requires concerted efforts to develop good policies, enact deterrent laws, provide social protection and good education, enhance the culture of social responsibility towards children, and intensify efforts to combat poverty and ignorance; As one of the most prominent reasons for children’s work, praising the initiatives and programs implemented by some countries and institutions to enable families and support education, which contributes to reducing this dangerous phenomenon, and guarantees a safe environment and a sound growth for every child. Amna and Salima, citing the saying of the Prophet ﷺ: & laquo; all of you are a shepherd and all of you are responsible for his flock & raquo; (Narrated by Al -Bukhari), in an eloquent indication of the responsibility of adults in caring for children, lifting harm to them, and not holding them the results of poverty or deprivation, and ensuring that they are not deprived of their due childhood, stressing the importance of the awareness and educational role that religious, educational and media institutions can play in the opposition of this phenomenon, and contributing effectively to forming a collective awareness that exalts the child’s protection and puts it in the top of the priorities. In light of the wars and conflicts that our world is witnessing today, which exacerbated the suffering of thousands of innocent children. In family upbringing, nutrition, education and care, a duty and moral responsibility for each of the family and society, and it should be provided and defended, and that no child is forbidden from it anywhere, and that any practice that obtains from their dignity or violates their rights, as well as the necessity of paying attention to the risks they are exposed to, or violating it in any form of images.
