The House of Representatives will hold a plenary session next Sunday to discuss a draft law and two agreements

The House of Representatives decided to hold its plenary session next Sunday, November 2, 2025. The following is an illustrative summary of the agenda of the plenary session of the Council, which included the following:

 

First: Discussing the draft law submitted by the government amending some provisions of Law No. 212 of 1980 imposing a fee for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ buildings abroad.

The draft law aims to increase the value of the fee imposed on every certification conducted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at home so that its value does not exceed the amount of fifty. EGP, and set it at no more than twenty US dollars or its equivalent in foreign currencies abroad on every visa granted by the Egyptian authorities at ports of entry and on every visa or consular work carried out by the embassies and consulates of the Arab Republic of Egypt abroad, with the aim of developing and modernizing the buildings and lands necessary for the headquarters of diplomatic missions as well as the Egyptian embassies and consulates abroad without the state bearing additional financial burdens.

 

Second: Discussing the following two international agreements:

 

1- Decision of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt No. 554 of 2025 regarding the approval of the memorandum of understanding, as well as the agreement on the “macroeconomic support and budgetary support” mechanism. Between the government of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the European Union.

 

2- Decision of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt No. 496 of 2025 approving the protocol amending the agreement concluded between the government of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the government of the Russian Federation regarding cooperation in building and operating a nuclear power station on the territory of the Arab Republic of Egypt by adding a physical protection system to the scope of work of the Russian general contractor.
