The launch of the training program in maintenance and restoration sciences of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization

The activities of the training program specialized in & ldquo; maintenance and restoration sciences & rdquo; organized by the Maintenance and Reconstruction Center at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Al -Fustat, with the participation of about 200 trainees and researchers from students and graduates of antiquities colleges in its various specialties.

& nbsp; The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, that the program comes within the framework of the museum’s keenness to perform its mission as a leading cultural and educational institution, and its belief in the importance of enabling young cadres and developing their skills by combining theoretical knowledge and practical applications, in order to enhance the role of the museum locally, regional and international For archaeological affairs, the training program includes lectures and a workshop on & ldquo; modern nitrogen applications in preserving mummies and archaeological holdings & rdquo; presented by Dr. Mustafa Ismail, Director of the Royal Mummies Factory, with the participation of Professor Iman Ibrahim from the restoration team. Wide of the restoration and antiquities specialists, as well as university students and workers at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, under the supervision of a group of experts and scientific cadres qualified in the museum. Aimed at raising the efficiency of workers and researchers in this vital field.

The program also includes a series of theoretical lectures and various practical applications, dealing with the examination and analysis of artifacts from its reception until the preparation of its status reports, the application of first aid procedures for the effect before entering the specialized laboratories, the latest methods of insect sterilization using anoxia technology, training in restoring organic models such as Woods, manuscripts, papyrus, fabric, baskets, dealing with mummies within the unit of specialized restoration, inorganic monuments restoration such as minerals, pottery and silicate materials, using nanotechnologies to restore stones.
