The Minister of Environment, Dr. Yasmine Fouad, called for the launch of an environmental dialogue for Egyptian businessmen on the sidelines of the activities of Egypt’s International Environment Day celebration, which is celebrated on June 5 of each year, as a gesture of cooperation between the ministry and the Egyptian businessmen association to address a number of important files, including the file for climate change, the mechanism of adjusting the carbon borders (CBAM), explaining the guidelines for various industries, and displaying opportunities The available investment and financing, confirming its constant welcome to open communication channels to any ideas or projects that serve the environmental issue. This came during a meeting with the Minister today with the members of the Egyptian Businessmen Association, headed by Eng. Ali Issa, to review the ministry’s vision, and exchange ideas and proposals on various environmental issues and challenges in order to upgrade environmental and climate work at all levels, in the presence of a number of Egyptian businessmen. Solid municipal waste, agricultural waste, building and demolition waste, medical and electronic waste, have promising investment opportunities, and there are legislation that helps the private sector to enter these areas. Which will encourage companies and factories from the private sector to achieve environmental compatibility and go towards reducing carbon emissions, stressing the constant need to support the Ministry of Environment through its specialists. In front of them, pointing out the need to work to raise environmental awareness and increase the environmental culture of entrepreneurs, the importance of looking at natural reserves and working to develop and invest in them in a way that does not violate the environment through the work of partnerships between the public and private sector.
