The Minister of Health meets with his Turkish counterpart to discuss strengthening and activating health cooperation between the two countries

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, held a bilateral meeting with Professor Kemal Mamishoglu, Turkish Minister of Health, to discuss strengthening health cooperation between the two countries, on the sidelines of the 11th World Medical Conference to be held in Turkey during the period from 24 to 26 November 2025.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi, Chairman of the Egyptian Medicines Authority, Dr. Hisham Steit, Chairman of the Egyptian Unified Purchasing Authority, and Dr. Peter Wagih, Assistant Minister of Health and Population for Medical Affairs.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Population Health, explained that the meeting focused on activating the memorandum of understanding signed in November 2024, by deepening cooperation in public health, family medicine, early warning systems for epidemics, combating communicable and non-communicable diseases, hospital management, emergency and disaster services, health investments in a partnership system with the private sector, production of medicines, supplies and prosthetics, medical tourism, and health coverage. «Abdul Ghaffar» added The meeting dealt with exchanging experiences in hospital management, developing partnership models between the public and private sectors, training doctors and nurses, especially in emergency and critical care, enhancing research and technical cooperation, blood transfusion services and plasma derivatives, and reducing waiting lists for major surgeries.
Abdul Ghaffar noted: The two sides agreed to intensify mutual official visits and translate the discussions into executive projects during the coming period.
In the context of supporting the Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip, the two ministers reviewed the joint efforts of both Egypt and Turkey in Providing medical and humanitarian support and receiving the sick and injured.
