The Minister of Labor discusses with the World Bank delegation ways of cooperation in implementing the national employment strategy

Minister of Labor, Mohamed Gibran, received, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Capital, Dr. Fadia Saada, Regional Director for Human Development in the Middle East and North Africa at the World Bank, and her accompanying delegation, to discuss ways of joint cooperation and open new horizons for cooperation between the two sides.
The meeting discussed aspects of cooperation in the national employment strategy, where the World Bank delegation reviewed some successful experiences that took place with a number of countries in the areas of employment support and market development.
The two sides also discussed cooperation in developing the system of labor market observatories affiliated with the Ministry of Labor, which currently number five observatories, while examining the possibility of generalizing the experience of the observatories to the rest of the governorates, providing an accurate database that contributes to formulating effective employment policies that respond to the actual labor market needs.
Minister Mohamed Gibran stressed during the meeting the importance of developing the vocational training system and enhancing cooperation with the Bank.
For her part, Dr. Fadia Saada praised the efforts of the Ministry of Labor in developing the Egyptian labor market and implementing ambitious structural reforms, stressing the World Bank’s readiness to support joint cooperation projects in the areas of employment, training, and skills development.
This meeting comes within the framework of the Ministry of Labor’s keenness To strengthen partnerships with international institutions to achieve the goals of the national employment strategy and develop the work environment to serve the economic and human development plans in Egypt.
