The Minister of Supply meets with the President of the General Company for Wholesale Trade to follow up on preparations for the holy month of Ramadan
Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, confirmed that the close monitoring of the availability of goods and the stability of the markets comes in implementation of the directives of the political leadership, which pays great attention to meeting the needs of citizens, especially during the month of Ramadan, stressing the need for continued coordination between the concerned authorities to ensure the availability of goods in appropriate quantities and fair prices.
This came during a meeting between Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, with Khaled Qandil, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Company for Wholesale Trade, and company leaders, to follow up on The position of the availability of basic commodities and ensuring the regular flow of supply to the affiliated outlets, within the framework of periodic meetings, reviewing the readiness of the commodity system in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan.
During the meeting, Dr. Sherif Farouk was briefed on the progress of work within the company’s branches and stores in the affiliated governorates, and its plans to enhance operational efficiency and develop the trading and distribution system, ensuring the provision of goods to citizens with high quality and appropriate prices, stressing that the ministry follows up daily the executive position to ensure that needs are met continuously during Season.
During the meeting, the company reviewed its plans to raise the rates of pumping goods into the ports, and develop work mechanisms within the branches, in addition to reviewing the executive position of the development projects that the company is currently implementing to enhance its efficiency and support the supply and distribution system.
The meeting was attended by Walid Abu Al-Majd, Deputy Minister of Supply, Mustafa Ismail, Vice President of the General Authority for Supply Commodities, Hossam Al-Jarrahi, Assistant Minister for Oversight Affairs, and Ahmed Kamal, Assistant Minister and official spokesman for the Ministry, and from the company’s side. General Wholesale Trade Khaled Qandil, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Khaled Diab, CEO and Managing Director of the company.
