The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities discusses joint cooperation with the Brazilian Minister of Culture

The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathi, discussed with the Brazilian Minister of Culture, Margaret Menezes, representative of the President of the Republic of Brazil, and her accompanying delegation, ways to enhance joint cooperation.
For her part, the Brazilian Minister of Culture expressed her sincere congratulations to the state and the Egyptian government on the occasion of the historic opening of the museum, praising the rare archaeological collections she saw and the world-class museum display that reflects the nobility of Egyptian civilization. And its originality.
The Minister of Tourism delivered a written message from the President of the Republic of Brazil to Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, stressing that her participation in the ceremony came on behalf of the Brazilian President, who was keen for his country to have an official presence in this international event.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Egypt and Brazil in the fields of tourism, antiquities and cultural heritage, in addition to benefiting from Egypt’s experience in applying modern technology in museums, especially the Grand Museum, to apply it in Brazilian museums, especially the Museum. The Brazilian National Museum is being rebuilt in preparation for its reopening next year after the fire accident it suffered in 2018.
The Brazilian Minister of Culture also expressed her aspiration to organize a temporary exhibition of Egyptian antiquities at the Brazilian National Museum within the framework of its opening, which will contribute to introducing the Brazilian people to the ancient Egyptian civilization and enhancing the tourism movement to Egypt.
The meeting discussed the preparation of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries in the fields of heritage, museums, protection of antiquities, and the exchange of experiences in these fields. In a way that enhances cultural and civilizational relations between the two peoples.
For his part, the Minister of Tourism welcomed the cooperation between the two countries, stressing that tourism, antiquities, arts and culture represent bridges of soft power that contribute to building bridges of friendship and enhancing rapprochement and understanding between peoples.
