The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities is following up on the new system for tourist visas

Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, held an expanded meeting, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Capital, to review the work and procedures that have been accomplished in the new system for obtaining a tourist visa upon arrival at Egyptian airports, in preparation for the start of its trial operation during the next few period, within the framework of Egyptian efforts to develop travel services at Egyptian airports and improve the tourist experience at Egyptian tourist destinations.

The Minister began the meeting by emphasizing the importance of accelerating the pace of work and finalizing all aspects. The system is in accordance with the mandates of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, as this step represents a pivotal element in making the experience inside Egyptian airports easier and smoother, which supports the efforts made by the Egyptian state to improve the tourist experience at the Egyptian destination, and raise the efficiency of services provided to visitors, in a way that works to enhance the ability to accommodate the growing increase in tourist traffic arriving in Egypt.

 

During the meeting, the volume of technical, technical and procedural work was discussed. accomplished so far in this regard, in addition to reviewing the executive procedures for activating the code (QR Code), which will allow the tourist to obtain the visa upon arrival at Egyptian airports and pay its value electronically immediately.

 

The experimental operational start of the system is scheduled initially at Cairo International Airport – Passenger Terminal 2 in preparation for its implementation in the airports of the first phase.

 

The meeting also discussed the time period required for the activation of the code and the mechanisms for linking it between the concerned authorities to ensure its full operational readiness with the start of the pilot phase.

 

The Minister stressed the importance of integrating efforts between the various parties to ensure the launch of the system efficiently and smoothly, reflecting the state’s continued keenness to develop the travel environment and provide a more advanced tourism experience. And quality.

 

The meeting was attended by Rana Johar, advisor to the minister for communication and external relations and general supervisor of the general administration of international relations and agreements at the ministry, Ahmed Nabil, assistant to the minister for aviation and follow-up, and Dr. Mohamed Shaaban, assistant to the minister for digital services.
