The Ministers of Irrigation and Solidarity discuss exploiting the water hyacinth plant to produce products and handicrafts
Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Dr. Hani Sweilem, discussed with Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, joint cooperation between the two ministries in the field of recycling the water hyacinth plant to produce distinct products and handicrafts through women in the most vulnerable families, and preparing an initiative to empower women in the field of water and water hyacinth recycling to be launched during the activities celebrating World Water Day in March 2026, which is scheduled to be held under the title “The Role of Water in Equality Between Both genders.”
The Minister of Irrigation expressed his sincere appreciation for the distinguished cooperation with the Ministry of Solidarity, such as cooperation in equipping the “Reception Center for the Children of Ministry Employees.” In the Ministry’s building in the new capital, which is scheduled to open soon.
