Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, witnessed, this Friday evening, the inauguration of the first Fustat Winter Festival of 2025, which began with a wonderful evening by the great musician Omar Khairat on the “Arena” stage, in Fustat Hills Park.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister gave a speech, which he began by welcoming the attendees to the inauguration of the festival. Fustat Hills Winter 2025, saying: “I welcome you all today to Fustat Hills Park, and with God Almighty’s will, we will begin the first cultural and entertainment activities there, and before we start and enjoy the great Egyptian musician Omar Khairat, I will tell you the story of this park, as this area is known as Fustat Hills, and the name “Fustat Hills” It came from three hills whose origins were the ashes of the Cairo fire that occurred in the Islamic era, in certain historical times known to specialists in history, and the ashes of this fire were transported to this area, which was deserted and made up of three cairns, and unfortunately, with the passage of time, it turned into the public garbage dumps of Cairo. This park is next to the Museum of Civilization and the “Ain Al-Sira” lake. For very few years, this area was previously an area for refuse, garbage, and dead animals, and the waters of the lakes were highly polluted with sewage and sewage. This is in addition to the presence of two of the largest unsafe and slum areas in Egypt, which are the “Ezbet Abu Qarn” and “Batn Al-Baqarah” areas, and other areas. Many.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly said: “And I remember with my fellow ministers the day when His Excellency Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the President of the Republic, stood before all the Egyptians and swore that we would not sleep or be silent until we cleared these areas and moved our families and children to areas where they would enjoy a decent life, and thank God. Almighty, this is exactly what happened, and we created residential complexes for them at the best level, with all services and housing at the highest level, where previously the houses on this land were “nests”, and based on my practical and professional experience before I assumed any position, I knew this area and preserved it well, as it was an inhuman area in every sense of the word, and unfortunately there were illegal practices and many bad things in it. Very".
Dr. Mustafa Madbouly indicated that a design and plan for this area had been prepared and presented to His Excellency the President, and His Excellency’s directive was to begin implementing this project immediately, explaining that in order to realize the size of the Fustat Hills Park, its area is ten times the area of Al-Azhar Park, which makes it the largest central park in The Middle East region.
The Prime Minister pointed out that this achievement brings to mind what was previously reported that the state established the new capital in order for the government to escape from Cairo and let it drown in its problems, but the reality that we see today confirms the opposite, as the Egyptian state chose to move to the new capital to relieve pressure on Cairo and begin treating Cairo’s ills. Chronic, and today we are in a region that is the best example of the political leadership’s approach and its daily follow-up of all projects that take place within the country, stressing that without this follow-up the project would not have been completed. Dr. Mustafa Madbouly expressed his overwhelming happiness today to be here to see the dream become a reality, and to become part of historic Cairo dear to us, a jewel of the crown inside historic Cairo. Al-Sisi, President of the Republic, for all the efforts being made to build this state and inaugurate the new republic. He also thanked and appreciated all the colleagues who contributed to the establishment of this park, and all the workers and implementing companies, pointing out that the official opening of the entire park is expected to take place at the beginning of 2026, and thus Egyptians will enjoy this central park of Greater Cairo, expressing his appreciation to all the companies that worked, and the minds that designed and planned, wishing the attendees a happy evening in the presence of a symbol of Egypt’s power.
