If you, like me, were troubled by reports of a feud between The White Lotus‘ on-screen lovers Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood, then I come bearing good news of a (possible) reconciliation.
ICYMI, the pair — who played the perpetually toxic couple of Rick and Chelsea on the latest season of the HBO series— have been dogged by rumours of beef since early last month, when fans noticed they had unfollowed each other on Instagram.
In 2025, that’s a crime far worse than any of those committed by a White Lotus guest, but the reports were kicked into overdrive when neither Goggins nor Wood tagged each other in their tribute posts shared after The White Lotus’ season three finale.
It reached a tipping point late last month, when Goggins showered praise on a Saturday Night Live skit which Wood took major offence to.
While Goggins wrote on Instagram that the skit, which poked fun at Wood’s teeth, was “smashing”, the actress herself described it as “mean and unfunny”.
If all that wasn’t enough, Goggins added fuel to the fire just this week, when he abruptly ended an interview with the London Times after being asked about the status of his friendship with Wood.
“I’m not gonna have that conversation,” Goggins told the outlet, while his publicist said “we’re not going there”.
Naturally, the avalanche of speculation was a cause for concern for those of us who (regrettably) related to the pair’s White Lotus romance. But, it seems they’ve since made up.
Internet sleuths recently discovered that Goggins and Wood now follow each other on Instagram, which is digital shorthand for a reconciliation worthy of BFF bracelets.

The social media move is especially notable since, last month, fans thought Goggins may have blocked Wood altogether, because her comments on his previous posts had disappeared from his page.
While the re-following suggests a step forward, Wood and Goggins did noticeably avoid each other at today’s Met Gala, with the actress posing alongside fellow White Lotus castmate Patrick Schwarzenegger while Goggins flew solo on the floral carpet.
Whatever the case, it’s simply the latest development in a season of television where the behind-the-scenes drama rivaled that of the actual show.
From Jason Isaacs saying friendships were “lost” on set to Mike White’s public spat with the show’s composer and the involvement of Duke University, feuds seemed to circle the show like I circle a breakfast buffet at swanky hotel.
