Tourist breaks record after devouring 40-item Full English breakfast in less than 7 minutes

A British tourist has smashed a world record by devouring a 40-item Full English breakfast at Benidorm – in less than seven minutes.

Leah Shutkever, from Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, attempted the feat at Uncle Ron’s café at the holiday resort in Spain.

The 3,500-calorie ‘belly buster’ challenge had taken over social media, and Leah was keen to try it for herself.

Her reason for taking on the task?

She was so fed up of men ‘letting the nation down’, she decided she’d tackle it herself.

Leah’s victory ‘put men to shame’ as she devoured a 40-item full English breakfast in less than seven minutes.

The 35-year-old managed to eat the four sausages, four bacon rashers, four fried eggs, four hash browns, four halves of toast, six tomatoes, half a large tin of baked beans, 10 mushrooms and two pieces of fried bread in minutes.

As a result, she smashed the record. She shared a video on her YouTube account.

The owner, Georgia Smith, was impressed – and shocked – she completed it so quickly.

Georgia said: ‘She just came in and smashed the record. It wasn’t surprising that she completed the challenge but I didn’t expect her to do it that quickly. She’s put the men to shame. 100 per cent.’

Leah completed the challenge, which has a success rate of just 3 per cent, in a record time of six minutes and 45 seconds, according to The Mirror.

She wrote alongside her video: ‘Think you could conquer the FAMOUS Belly Buster Breakfast at Uncle Ron’s in Benidorm? This MONSTER Full English Breakfast Challenge went CRAZY viral on social media and now it’s my turn to take it on. Can I finish it, or will I fail like so many others?’

The tourist, who weighs just 11 stone and is 5ft 8in tall, used her hands instead of cutlery to eat.

Leah explained, ‘The British men were letting everyone down so I had to go over there and sort it out. I’ve been tagged in this challenge thousands of times and told I have to go and represent the UK because the British people are embarrassing us.

‘I was very confident and I’ve got many years of experience but my intention was to present a video and not just go all-out on the food without talking about it.

‘When the last minute came I went for it because people said I had a minute left so I shut up. When I finished everyone was so happy. I don’t think anyone thought that record would be eaten because it was so good. The response was great because I don’t look like your typical competitive eater.’

Leah, who says she fasted for around 16 hours before the challenge, spent two days at Benidorm before flying home back to the UK. She won an Uncle Ron’s-branded T-shirt.

Leah, a professional eater, shares details of her challenges on social media, including her Instagram account @shutkeverofficial, where she has 384,000 followers. She says she has won more than 40 Guinness World Records and is Great Britain’s number one Female Competitive Eater.

The breakfast costs just Euro 12 (£10.39) but if guests eat it within the 20 minutes, they get it for free.

Leah’s YouTube video racked up more than 500 comments and 9,600 views – and viewers were understandably blown away.

One wrote:  ‘Love the fact that not only do you beat it, you do it in record time!!! Watching you eat, and how much a tiny lady like you can pack away blows me away every time, but I always feel more amped up for my own nightly “food challenge” after watching you battle yours!’

Another added: ‘Congratulations on beating the record. You’re so awesome.’

A third chimed in: ‘As, always you have absolutely smashed this challenge.’
