Between his controversial showmance with Holly Young, his constant farting and regular use of the words ‘brev’, ‘bruh’ and ‘brevington’, Colin Ridley has definitely made his mark on Big Brother Australia.

The 21-year-old aspiring MMA fighter was the first contestant to enter the house and quickly became a fan favourite thanks to his golden retriever energy and zero filter.

Ahead of next week’s finale, a clip of Colin’s previous TV appearance on WIN News earlier this year has resurfaced on social media.
The 23-second video shows the Wollongong resident telling a reporter about how roadworks have disrupted his sleep schedule and, if anything, proves his reality TV persona is completely genuine.
“The noise over on that end is actually insanity, and sometimes the works get so bad here that like, legit the whole of the Illawara’s dogs are barking at like, 9pm,” he said.
Vinnie’s Deal Or No Deal appearance
Colin isn’t the only Big Brother 2025 housemate with previous TV experience, with recent evictee Vinnie Brigante appearing on Deal Or No Deal in 2024.
The 21-year-old barber went on the game show with his brother and great-grandmother, and screamed ‘deal’ to a bank offer of $18,800. It was later revealed that he had $50k in his briefcase, which is something I probably wouldn’t stop thinking about for the rest of my life.
Regardless, Vinnie’s doing pretty well for himself after he also took a $10k deal on this season of Big Brother.
It’s been reported that his stint on Deal Or No Deal actually led to Channel 10 casting him on Big Brother, which has to be one of the most insane reality TV pipelines I’ve ever heard of.
Michael’s MAFS offer
Meanwhile, this season’s first boot Michael Downs recently confirmed that he was originally set to appear on Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026 before being dropped at the last minute.
“I did kind of half get on MAFS. They could not find me a woman,” he told Daily Mail, adding that Big Brother was a “way better fit” for him.
Given the controversial opinions he shared on Big Brother, I’m sure we can all imagine what kind of hell he would’ve caused for sweet John Aiken.

‘Groovy grandma’ Jane Marshall-Doherty has also told New Idea that she wants to be the very first Aussie Golden Bachelorette, so watch this space.
If I was in charge of reality TV casting, I’d personally want to see Allana Jackson given a chance at finding love on the silver screen over Jane — although she’s definitely too young for The Golden Bachelor franchise.
I also reckon Emily Dale would create iconic TV as a (very anxious) contestant on the next season of The Traitors, and heck, let’s get will-they-won’t-they couple Bruce Dunne and Coco Beeby on The Block just for fun.
