Two children were killed and two others critically injured after an early morning shooting.
The shooting happened on Saturday morning in Angleton, Texas, with police being called to a gas station at 5am – although police said it was not the site of the shooting.
According to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, two kids aged 13 and 4 were fatally shot, with two others aged 8 and 9 transported away by an air ambulance in a critical condition.
Investigators told KHOU11 that an adult woman has since been taken into custody, her relationship to the children remains unclear at this time.
A statement from the Sheriff’s Office said: ‘Investigators are collecting evidence and working to determine exactly what happened.

‘All individuals believed to be involved have been detained, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
‘While details are still developing, the loss of two children in such a manner is a tragedy.
‘Our thoughts are with the family and everyone affected as we continue to learn more about this heartbreaking situation.’
Law enforcement sources also told KHOU11 that the two children currently in hospital are expected to survive the disturbing ordeal.
