
A 15-year-old boy who allegedly fired an air gun at another student at a Sydney high school has been charged with a string of offences.
Police were called to Rose Bay Secondary College in the city’s east just after 1.45pm on Thursday following reports of a teenager with a firearm.
Officers were told a 15-year-old boy used a BB gun to fire a pellet at the back of another student.
The school was plunged into lockdown and students were evacuated onto the oval.
Police seized a ‘ball-bearing-style’ firearm allegedly used in the incident.
The teenager was arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station for questioning.
He has since been charged with: possessing an unregistered, unauthorised pistol in a public place; stalking or intimidating with intent to cause fear of physical harm; and firing a firearm in or near a public place.
The 15-year-old is due to face a children’s court on Friday.

Police said in at statement on Friday there were no reports of injuries.
‘The boy allegedly showed another student what appeared to be a firearm before allegedly firing a pellet at him,’ it read.
‘The projectile reportedly struck the student, though there were no reports of injuries.
‘The incident prompted the school into lockdown.’
