Dr. Mostafa Madbouly said: Hunger and poverty remain among the most pressing challenges of our time, noting that there are more than two billion people around the world who suffer from food insecurity to varying degrees, while one in every five people in Africa suffers from hunger. Daily.

 

The Prime Minister explained that the famine in Gaza clearly embodies how conflicts destroy people’s lives and deprive them of their basic rights.

 

In this context, the Prime Minister stressed that the international peace summit held in the city of “Sharm El-Sheikh” The past month came at the appropriate time to re-establish peace and stability in the Middle East region, and to begin recovery and reconstruction efforts in Gaza, noting that Egypt is planning to host an international conference on “early recovery, reconstruction and development.” In Gaza, inviting everyone to attend.

 

During his speech, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly pointed out that hunger and poverty intersect with other structural challenges, such as high debt levels, a decline in official development aid, and limited access to concessional financing. He said: Addressing these challenges requires a comprehensive approach that begins with urgent reform of the global financial structure and strengthening global economic governance.

 

He added: At the national level, Egypt launched the most ambitious social safety net projects; It is the “Solidarity and Dignity” program, which aims to provide assistance to more than 7 million people per month, as well as the “Decent Life” presidential initiative, which is considered the largest ambitious project to improve the lives of rural residents, and more than 60 million people benefit from these two initiatives.

 

He also noted that in addition to that, Egypt is implementing a national project for silos that aims to increase the storage capacity of wheat. grains, and maintaining a strategic reserve to secure the state’s needs; The project includes the establishment of about 50 silos in 17 governorates, to add new storage capacities of up to 1.5 million tons, bringing the total reserve stored to exceed 6 million tons.

 

The Prime Minister continued: And last but not least, Egypt also launched the Luxor Coordination Center in order to enhance flexibility, innovation and disseminate knowledge in Upper Egypt, in partnership with the World Food Programme, as well as working with the Food and Agriculture Organization. "FAO" To host a global grain storage center in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
