We Found The 1991 Leonardo DiCaprio Interview Nikki Glaser Used In Her Golden Globes Roast
During her opening monologue at the 2026 Golden Globes, host Nikki Glaser gave the kinda tired “Leonardo DiCaprio only dates young women” a new twist, resulting in everyone asking the same thing: is Leo’s favourite food really pasta? And is it true we don’t know much about him?
The answer to both is, apparently, yes.
“You’ve won three Golden Globes, an Oscar, and the most impressive thing is that you were able to come up with all of that before your girlfriend turned 30,” Glaser said. “It’s just insane.”
It’s a tired joke, and Nikki immediately acknowledged that. (Also, the joke is that Leo’s girlfriends are always under 25 years old, and his current GF, Vittoria Ceretti, is 27.)
“Leo, I’m sorry I made that joke,” Nikki continued. “It’s cheap. I tried not to, but we don’t know anything else about you, man. Open up!”
She said the only interview she was able to find where Leo showed any kind of personality was from several decades ago, where he supposedly said his favourite food was pasta.
“Is that true?” she asked, with Leo nodding in agreement.
We went hunting for the Leonardo DiCaprio pasta interview, and guess what: IT EXISTS.
It’s apparently from 1991, published in a long-closed publication called Teen Beat. In the Q&A style interview, Leo says his favourite book is Lord of the Flies, his favourite movies are Parenthood and One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Next, his favourite actor is Jack Nicholson, his favourite actress is Meg Ryan, and yes, his favourite food is “pasta, pasta and more pasta”.
Interestingly, the 17-year-old Leo said his favourite pastime or hobby was “fossils”, and the adult Leo is a well-known collector of dinosaur bones. We also spotted that the teenage Leo said “in the future I would like to study oceanography”, and we can only assume filming Titanic with James Cameron was a non-stop ocean special interest yap.
Looks like our man is nothing if not consistent. If someone could get an ounce of personality out of him, the next Golden Globes host might have more to go on!
