World Series Game 7 becomes Canada’s most expensive sporting seat in HISTORY as fans fight for Dodgers-Blue Jays ticket

The 2025 World Series is shaping up to be a Fall Classic for the ages. However, getting to witness a glimpse of an unforgettable Game 7 is proving to be no easy feat for fans – and their wallets.
The Blue Jays take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in Toronto in a scintillating all-or-nothing Game 7 with a shot at bringing the World Series title back to Canada for the first time in over 30 years.
Yet, the clash is already making history in the Great North. As baseball fever sweeps through Canada, ticket prices have soared to record heights.
On resale site TickPick, the cheapest ticket listed seven hours before the first pitch was $1,090 – and that’s for standing room only.
For those who wanted to at least soak up the action from a seat, their cheapest option was over $1,400 with the most expensive in the nosebleed sections costing a staggering $2,200.
Meanwhile, only those with the deepest pockets would dare to look at the options at offer behind home plate. Fans wanting the best view in the house needed to be willing to fork out an eye-watering $21,665.

The jaw-dropping prices have shattered records in Canada, making it the nation’s most expensive sporting event ever, according to Front Office Sports.
Toronto Police issued a warning to fans ahead of the World Series to be vigilant of ticket sale scams.
‘Major sporting events often attract scammers looking to exploit fan excitement and demand for tickets, merchandise, and accommodations,’ a statement read last month.
‘Fraudsters may pose as legitimate ticket sellers on social media, classified websites, or fake ticketing platforms, offering tickets that are counterfeit, duplicated, or simply non-existent. Once payment is made, the seller often disappears, leaving fans without tickets and out of money.’
Toronto sports fans are no strangers to do-or-die Game 7s. It’s something they’ve been on the losing side of in recent memory.
The Blue Jays won a Game 7 in this year’s American League Championship Series to get to the Fall Classic.
But that was the first win in such a game from a Toronto team since the NBA ‘s Raptors won Game 7 of the 2019 Eastern Conference semifinals over the Philadelphia 76ers – en route to a title.
Between the 2019 Game 7 win and the 2025 victory, Toronto teams lost five consecutive Game 7’s.
While the Raptors contributed to that in the form of a loss in the 2020 Eastern Conference semifinals, the true kings of the Game 7 loss are the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs.
Since that aforementioned Raptors win, the Leafs lost Game 7’s in 2021 to the Montreal Canadiens, in 2022 to the Tampa Bay Lightning, in 2024 to the Boston Bruins (who beat the Leafs in 7 games in 2013, 2018, and 2019), and this past season to the eventual Stanley Cup-champion Florida Panthers.
