13 women killed in a wedding party
Thirteen women who were guests at another woman’s wedding in Kushinagar, India, have died after they accidentally fell into an old well.
The women had sat on the lid of the well, but it was old and could not bear the weight of a large number of people. At the same time, the depth of the well borehole reached more than fifteen meters. Rescuers who arrived on the scene managed to save only two victims, the remaining thirteen were killed.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the families of the victims.
Narendra wrote: “It is very heartbreaking. The local administration has been instructed to provide any possible assistance to the relatives of the victims.”
