Gomez: Our goal is to win the Confederation

The Portuguese coach Jose Gomez, the coach of the Zamalek team, expressed his happiness with the Whites qualifying for the final of the African Confederation Cup, and overcoming Ghana’s Dreams in the second leg of the semi-finals.

The coach said in the press conference: " We dedicate the victory to the soul of Mohamed Medhat, the team’s physical trainer, who passed away a short time ago, and everyone is doing their best to win the championship for the sake of the late physical trainer.”

He added: “ Dreams has a group of distinguished players, and it is difficult to play on this field, and we succeeded in exploiting the opportunities we had in the match, and we deserve to win and qualify.”

Zamalek’s technical director said: “ There were several chances for the Dreams team in the match, and Mohamed Awad blocked several chances, and the defense also saved some chances for the opposing team."

Gomez added:" Zamalek did not take advantage of the opportunities it had in the first leg, and we succeeded in dealing with the return match well and we were the best and deserved to win the match and qualify for the final.”

The coach concluded by saying: “ Zamalek is looking forward to winning the title and we will do our best to win the Confederation Championship.”

The first football team of Zamalek club clinched its qualification for the final of the Confederation Cup, after defeating Dreams of Ghana by three unanswered goals in the match that was held between them, Baba Yara Sports Club, in The second leg of the semi-finals of the tournament, and the first leg, which was held in Cairo, ended in a goalless draw, with the Whites qualifying on aggregate with three unanswered points, and awaiting the finalists from Nahdet Berkane and Ittihad Al-Asimah.
