this house in Brittany where young parents recharge their batteries “2 to 4 months a year”

Several months a year, singer Raphaël and his wife Mélanie Thierry flee Paris to recharge their batteries in Brittany. An ideal spot for these young parents who have just had their third child.

Raphaël makes his musical return. The singer released the album on March 8 Another life. During her promotional tour, the star gave a series of interviews. The opportunity to talk about your pleasures in life. And to recharge his batteries, the artist found his haven of peace: Brittany.

Raphaël and Mélanie Thierry: where is their house in Brittany?

With his wife Mélanie Thierry – and their children Roman, Aliocha and now a third baby who has just been born according to Monaco-Morning – Raphaël likes to recharge his batteries on the island of Bréhat. As soon as he can, the singer escapes from Paris to the Breton coasts. In total, the couple resides there “two to four months per year”, depending on the artist’s tours. A pleasure on which he confided for France Bleu. Raphaël explained that he had a pied-à-terre in the Côtes d’Armor. “My wife and I have a house in Brittany, we are very attached to Brittany. It’s like a crush, I love Brittany”he told the radio.

A heavenly place which, the singer is aware, attracts more and more curious people. So, when asked for the best spots, the star remains silent. “Not in the right places”he replies. “There are a lot of people who come to the island in the summer, and it’s good to be able to keep little secret corners…” With humor, he explains with a laugh that he would take visitors “take the highway, from the pier to the Lighthouse”.

An “adopted” Breton

The star, in a relationship with Mélanie Thierry since 2002, favors Brittany in spring and summer, due to the weather. “In January-February, I think it’s more difficult, you have to have a good inner life”he says with humor. “It’s an island very close to the mainland, but it’s an island nonetheless. In the evening, everything is closed. I love that feeling.” Does the island of Bréhat help him compose his songs? “It plays on a feeling of isolation which is very pleasant for me”, he believes. It was there that he drew his inspiration for the album High fidelityreleased in 2021.

Brittany, a land that speaks to the couple formed by Raphaël and Mélanie Thierry: the actress is originally from Quimperlé. “I also feel adopted because Mélanie, my wife, is Breton, from Quimperlé”confided the 48-year-old singer to West France. And to combine pleasure and work, Raphaël will give a concert next July on the island of Bréhat, as part of the Scènes de Bréhat festival. A familiar face to the islanders, who come across him several months a year.
