In Kostroma “the Snow Maiden statue” frightened the locals

 

In Kostroma, on Magistralnaya Street, local authorities installed a statue of the Snow Maiden, which was later criticized by local residents.

Social media users said that the wire statue glows in the dark and scares children. Some residents compared it to the monument to Alenka from Novovoronezh, which also caused a wave of indignation. The city authorities said they did not see anything frightening in the character of the Snow Maiden.

Andrei Shilin, head of the city service in the municipal order, explained: “It is not scary for me. It was made by Kostroma craftsmen. At first, the Snow Maiden was on its own, then it was supplemented with small figures – New Year’s balls and Christmas trees were installed nearby. All This, combined with street lighting, is lit in the evening, the lighting looks very good.

He indicated that it is planned to repaint the statue again and update the lighting.
