Saint-Brieuc: nearly 300 hospital caregivers on sick leave while 80,000 festival-goers are expected this weekend for the Art Rock festival
Nearly 300 caregivers are on sick leave at the Saint-Brieuc hospital (Côtes-d’Armor) as the 41st edition of the Art Rock festival begins Friday May 17, observes France Bleu Armorique.
Since Tuesday, it has been impossible to enter the emergency room of the Yves Le Foll Hospital Center without first calling 15. Two Civil Protection volunteers take turns 24 hours a day to filter entries. Only vital emergencies are covered.
The caregivers, who filed these sick leaves in a manner “coordinate”, according to management, are opposed to a reform of working hours in the establishment. Faced with this dispute, the management which considers that a “Red line” was crossed “in terms of safety and quality of care” announces that it is suspending its working time reform and invites agents on sick leave to return to work without delay.
The 41st edition of Art Rock festival will run until Sunday. Some 85,000 festival-goers are expected as well as 60 artists including Étienne Daho, The Libertines, Hoshi and Fallen Alien.
