Producer of “Aquarium” and “Kino” Andrei Tropillo has died

Soviet and Russian sound engineer and music publisher Andrei Tropillo died at the age of 74. How reports “Fontanka”, Tropillo died on Saturday night, but his colleagues found out about it only on May 1.

Daughter of sound engineer Polina Tropillo told telegram channel SHOT that her neighbors informed her about her father’s death. The cause of death is still unknown, it will be determined by a forensic examination.

Tropillo has lived in Finland for the past two years. IN conversation from TASS, Polina Tropillo said that farewells and funerals in Russia are hardly possible “under the given political circumstances.” According to her, most likely the sound engineer will be buried in Finland.

• Andrey Tropillo was born in 1951 in Leningrad. He was called the first producer of the Soviet Union. He was the creator of the unofficial AnTrop label, which released albums by Time Machine, Aquarium, Kino, Alisa and other cult Russian rock bands. Tropillo himself acted as a sound engineer for the records and recorded some instrumental parts. He also organized rock concerts in Leningrad.
