The European Court of Justice obliges all EU countries to recognize the rights of same-sex parents

 

The European Court has ordered that the rights of same-sex parents be recognized in all EU countries in order to guarantee the free movement of children in EU countries.

The decision was made on the lawsuit brought by Kalina Ivanova, a Bulgarian national, and Jane Jones, born in British Gibraltar, in which the British authorities refused to issue a birth certificate to their daughter, born in Spain in 2019, refusing to give her a birth certificate.

In accordance with the decision of the European Court, in addition to recognizing the parental rights of all parents of the same sex, the Bulgarian authorities also ordered that the child be granted citizenship of the country.

Earlier it was reported that same-sex marriage was legalized in Chile.
