A pregnant woman surprised the doctor with her baby in the liver

 

Michael Narvi, a doctor from Canada, spoke about his pregnant patient, whose fetus was not developing in the womb, but in the liver.

As Michael said, a 33-year-old woman who was in her second month of pregnancy came to see him. The patient did not complain about anything, so Narvi planned to have an ultrasound and let the expectant mother go.

But when the doctor looked at the monitor, he could not believe his eyes: the fetus was not in the womb, but in the woman’s liver. Michael said he had never seen anything like this in his entire career.

Narvi admitted: “She had an ectopic pregnancy. This is the first time in my business.”

The doctor later explained that in rare cases, the fetus falls out of the fallopian tubes and ends up somewhere in the abdominal cavity. More often, it is repaired in the liver, as with the patient – in total, since 1999, 14 such cases have been registered.

Narvi added that everything was fine with the woman: she underwent an operation and the fetus was removed from the liver.
