The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe announces that the parties have agreed to respect the ceasefire in Donbass

The Contact Group for the Settlement of the Conflict in Eastern Ukraine has agreed to return to respecting the ceasefire in Donbass.

The organization said that the members of the contact group, which included representatives of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics (DPR and LPR), agreed to return to the agreements on consolidating the ceasefire on July 22, 2020.

Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said the military would “consistently and resolutely” adhere to the ceasefire, including “regarding the conditions for opening fire in response.”

At the same time, representatives of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics reported that the Ukrainian delegation did not support their new proposal to strengthen the ceasefire regime.
