Fatima Omar reveals for the first time the cause of disability

Fatma Omar, a Paralympic weightlifting team player and Egyptian Olympics legend, revealed for the first time the reason for her disability, and also confirmed that she is proud of her sports career.

 

Fatma Omar said during her hosting In the “Yes, We Are Able” program, broadcast on On Sport FM radio, and presented by Muhammad Kishk: “I challenged the circumstances like anyone else in order to achieve his dreams, and I, God, am the one who has a disability, and thank God I was able to achieve many achievements that make me proud of my career.”

 

Regarding the reason for her disability, she said: “I was exposed to polio when I was young, specifically when I did not reach the ninth month of my life, and I received treatment after that, but it was not beneficial, and when I reached… At an older age, she underwent surgical operations and was not crowned with success.

 

It is noteworthy that Fatima Omar announced her retirement from playing after a career that lasted 31 years in the sport of weightlifting, where she achieved a record by winning 6 Medals in the Paralympics.

 

The Yes Are Able program is broadcast once a week on Thursday, on On Sport FM radio, and is presented by Mohamed Keshk, one of the heroes of “Able with a Difference,” which is the program. The first of its kind on Egyptian and Arab radio, presented by a blind broadcaster.
