Who said that Jean-Jacques Goldman had completely hung up the microphone? The singer-songwriter who withdrew from the media and has been very discreet for several years has returned to service unexpectedly! According to The Parisianthe father of the director of the star Academy Michael Goldman wrote a brand new song for a very special reason…

Jean-Jacques Goldman: this incredible project in which he participated

Nadia Bachmar, a school teacher and fan of Jean-Jacques Goldman, tried her luck in 2020 by contacting the famous singer. She asked him to write a song about the duty of memory for his CM1 class in Venissieux, in the Rhône. Against all expectations, he accepted this crazy request.

But confinement put a brake on this project. Despite everything, Nadia Bachmar and Jean-Jacques Goldman continued to correspond. “Our few exchanges were epistolary. And my letter which contained my email never reached him. I think I forgot to stamp it“, she explained to Parisian. Despite these little twists of fate, the project was underway. So much so that Michael Jones himself, the singer’s sidekick, went to the teacher’s class to exchange a word with the students, now in 4th grade.

Jean-Jacques Goldman: his new song… “He seems touched”

I laughed a lot when a student asked him if he knew any stars, without understanding that he had one in front of him“, she also related. Not long ago, she received the song she was waiting for so much, called Resistant, written by the great Jean-Jacques Goldman, and which opens with the letter from Missak Manouchian that he had written to his wife a few hours before his execution at Mont-Valérien, in Hauts-de-Seine. “I couldn’t believe it. I was overcome by emotion“, she remembered.

And the professor added: “He wanted the children to take control of the text, I told him it would be better if he did it. He understood my approach, the idea of transmission by telling them: ‘It’s up to you to resist now‘”. The students then performed this title at their school’s festival “Vénissieux la belle, la rebel”. Michael Goldman’s father even kept in touch with Nadia Bachmar to the point of inviting her to dinner!

It was almost natural, like an extension of our exchanges. He was very comfortable. Everyone recognized him without daring to disturb him. Just at the end, a table celebrating a birthday asked him for selfies. He kindly accepted. He seems touched by the emotion he arouses“, she remembered. An incredible adventure…
