61 deaths in Thailand due to extreme heat since the beginning of the year

Bangkok, May 10 / WAM / 61 people have died in Thailand since the beginning of the year due to extreme heat.

The Thai Ministry of Health explained today that northeastern Thailand, most of which is agricultural land, witnessed the largest number of deaths.

Apishart Vachiravan, head of the disease control department at the Thai Ministry of Health, advised people with chronic problems to stay at home.

Last April, the authorities in Bangkok issued daily warnings in this regard, with the perceived temperature exceeding 52 degrees Celsius.
