In the original clip, which was viewed more than 1.7 million times, Sarah wasted little time in reeling off her thoughts.

‘The number of men who I have caught cheating on their significant others through jewelry sales is absolutely insane.

‘So post-grad, I decided that I was going to start working at a jewelry store.

‘I personally was on the sales team and everyone has heard that men will buy two separate pieces of jewelry at a jewelry store [if they are cheating].

‘I didn’t believe that this was a thing – until I had worked there for about a month.’

The first indicator she noticed was men buying two separate pieces of jewelry opposed to a single set like people normally would.

With men stating their wives only like yellow gold jewelry they would purchase white gold necklaces out of nowhere – which was clearly for their secret lovers.

‘You could tell that this was not for his wife because his demeanor would completely change,’ she added.

‘He’d start looking around. He would start stuttering his words. He’d say, “yeah, just put that on the tab too – she will really like that.”‘

She said that often men would often ask for the items to be boxed separately as she concluded: ‘At the end of every transaction, I would shake my customer’s hand and guess who’s were the sweatiest – “Cheater McGee.”‘

Sarah then posted a follow-up clip following the widespread interest in her insight.

She began by asserting that another telltale sign would be men who would use two cards for two separate purchases in a bid to cover their tracks.

Trying to catch men out by quizzing them, Sarah would notice the secret cheaters would struggle to come up with a reason as to why they wanted to pay separately.

Her last indicator was when men tried to ‘pull the daughter card.’

The content creator explained: ‘Now don’t get me wrong a lot of men did buy jewelry for their daughters – but this was different.

‘I would ask them questions about their daughter. I know some people don’t want all of their information out there but I was just making casual conversation while we’re going through the transaction and asking about family which you’re trained to do.

‘So I’d ask, “how old is your daughter? She’s 13. Oh gosh, that’s incredible. So when was she born – what year was that? When’s her birthday? January 8?

‘”Oh my gosh, you should get her a birthstone necklace, maybe not these diamond earrings for a 14-year-old girl but maybe we just get her a little like birthstone.”‘

A third person added: ‘They did it 24/7 at Victoria’s Secret too when I worked there. Very two clearly different sizes.’

One person suggested: ‘Include gift tags inside, and switch the names by accident.’

Another wrote: ‘Oops, I accidentally put the receipt with both purchases in the earring box under the earring insert.’

A third person added: ‘Same with flower shops. I’m a florist, lots of men used to order two bouquets for delivery on Valentine’s Day… I’m such a klutz sometimes… I once accidentally confused the cards with each other…’

Someone else questioned: ‘Like why do they go through all this stress. Just break up.’
