The United States declares its commitment to the principle of state sovereignty

First Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov in Geneva, during which she stated that Washington supports the right of countries to independently choose which alliances to join.
This came in a statement issued by the head of the State Department’s press service, Ned Price.

He stated that the diplomats discussed bilateral issues that the US and Russian sides will address in the extraordinary meeting within the framework of the dialogue on strategic stability.
