The President of the Association of Islamic Universities on an inspection tour of the Library of Alexandria
Today, Wednesday, the President of the Association of Islamic Universities, Dr. Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, visited the Library of Alexandria, on an inspection tour in which he was accompanied by a delegation of distinguished guests of the “International Conference on the Role of Universities in Enriching Bridges of Understanding and Peace between the East and the West,” which is organized by the University of Alexandria in cooperation With the Library of Alexandria, the Association of Islamic Universities, and the University of El Alamein.
The Director of the Library of Alexandria, Dr. Ahmed Zayed, was accompanied by; Conference guests on a tour inside the library, starting from the Callimachus Triangle; To get acquainted with the main reading hall, then the Antiquities Museum, and the tour ended with an inspection of the manuscript restoration laboratory. Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa praised the library’s pioneering role in spreading culture, arts and sciences and the library’s distinguished capabilities that serve visitors of all ages and nationalities.
At the end of the tour Dr. Ahmed Zayed presented; The guests presented a number of the most important publications of the Manuscript Center, most notably a catalog of the most important manuscript treasures in the Library of Alexandria, and the works of all the conferences that were held in the library related to manuscripts, including the millennium manuscripts, signed, folded, and translated manuscripts as well. The Journal of Manuscript Sciences was also dedicated, in addition to the research of Dr. Jawad Ali with a variety of digital illustrated manuscripts.
