Scientists warn of new strains of COVID-19 after Omicron

Scientists have warned that the rapid spread of the “Omicron” strain will ensure that it does not turn into the latest version of the Corona virus that will plague the world.

According to experts, each infection gives the virus a chance to mutate, and Omicron has already proven its advantage in rapid spread.
According to Boston University infectious epidemiologist, Leonardo Martinez, the faster the “omicron” spreads, the higher the chance of mutations, which could lead to more variants of the coronavirus.

Experts say Omicron is more likely than the Delta strain to re-infect people previously diagnosed with COVID-19 and cause “breakthrough infections” in vaccinated people while also attacking non-immunized people.

Experts suggest that the virus will evolve. In particular, it can return to humans after infecting susceptible animals, or “double-infect” humans, hybrids.

It is also claimed that omicron appears to cause less serious illness than Delta, and that its “behaviour” gives hope that eventually the virus will become milder, like the common cold, and will certainly become “less lethal.”

In order to “curb” the emergence of new types of coronavirus, scientists stress the need to follow public safety measures, such as wearing masks and vaccination.
