Call of Duty creator shares rise after Microsoft buys it

Shares of Call of Duty creator Activision Blizzard soared on the back of Microsoft’s announcement of a purchase of the gaming company. At press time, the stock was at auction at $86.79.

Shares soared from $64 to a maximum of $89 and shares jumped 40% after Microsoft confirmed its plans to strike a deal.

Microsoft’s decision to buy Activision Blizzard became known on the evening of January 18.
Microsoft’s head of games, Phil Spencer, said the deal is worth $68.7 billion.

Spencer said that until the end of the deal, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick will remain in his position. However ,

Microsoft said in a statement that the company will in the future come under the control of the head of Xbox.

Activision Blizzard is famous for projects such as Call of Duty, Warcraft, Diablo, Overwatch, StarCraft and many other popular titles.
