Microsoft buys Call of Duty and Warcraft

Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer announced that Microsoft is buying Activision Blizzard. The creators of Call of Duty, Warcraft, Diablo, Overwatch, StarCraft and many other popular titles will be joining the Xbox team.

The acquisition will cost Microsoft $68.7 billion. Until the deal is closed, Bobby Kotick will continue to serve as CEO of Activision Blizzard, but after the deal is closed, Microsoft Gaming and Phil Spencer will take over the company.

As part of the Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass subscription, Microsoft promises to add a large number of games from the Activision Blizzard catalog.

Recently, Activision Blizzard has been covered by the press regarding sexual harassment scandals within the company.
