"Union for Human Rights" Participates in the United Nations Civil Society Conference 2024 "Influential alliances"

Nairobi, 9 May / WAM / The Union Society for Human Rights is participating in the activities of the United Nations Civil Society Conference 2024, “Influential Alliances”, which kicked off at the United Nations headquarters in the Kenyan city of Nairobi, today.

He headed the association’s delegation and its team of legal experts; Maryam Al-Ahmadi, Vice President of the Union Society for Human Rights, within the framework of representing civil society in the UAE.
The international conference is attended by more than 3,700 participants, representing many international bodies and mechanisms, and more than 400 international non-governmental organizations working in various humanitarian and development fields, in addition to representatives of a number of companies, institutions and initiatives concerned with promoting humanitarian development programs in the world and harnessing modern technologies. To serve humanity and face current and future challenges.

The conference includes discussing the visions of civil society organizations regarding the United Nations Charter for the Future, the final draft of which the United Nations is preparing, in light of the conclusions of its discussions and deliberations related to anticipating all visions and perceptions related to identifying the need and confronting future challenges.

It also discusses the five principles of the Charter for the Future: sustainable development and financing for development, international peace and security, science, technology, innovation and digital cooperation, youth and future generations, and transforming global governance.

The conference will witness the launch of the Civil Society Alliance to Influence the Future, which will serve as a platform for non-governmental organizations in various countries of the world, with the aim of enhancing cooperation between all civil society institutions, and presenting initiatives and opinions aimed at supporting international efforts to activate the United Nations Charter for the Future and the 2030 plan concerned with achieving sustainable development. In the world, by developing a “community” action plan under the supervision of the United Nations, which includes all ideas, projects and initiatives related to international cooperation in the future, and in a way that enhances the efforts and commitments of the state, companies and non-governmental organizations, to ensure the integrated implementation and coordination of the Charter in all human societies.
