The United States began evacuating its diplomats from Kiev and the State Department allowed some U.S. Embassy employees and their families to leave Ukraine.
“The State Department has authorized the voluntary departure of US personnel and ordered the relevant family members to leave the embassy in Kiev due to Russia’s continuing threat of military action,” a US State Department statement said.
The State Department has advised US citizens in Ukraine to consider leaving now.
